Ordering & Shipping from Dubai to Egypt

How do I place an order with Al Faisal from Egypt?

WhatsApp +971 55 874 7919 is the fastest method. Send a list of what you need — compressor models, gas types and quantities, copper pipe sizes, spare parts. A photo of the AC outdoor unit nameplate is more useful than a description for compressor orders. Our export team responds with current wholesale pricing and availability the same business day (Monday to Saturday, 8AM–8PM Dubai time). See the full process at our ordering and shipping guide.

How long does sea freight from Dubai to Egypt take?

Sea freight from Jebel Ali Port to Alexandria Dekheila or Port Said takes 7–10 days in transit. Add 2–3 days for cargo booking cut-off before the weekly sailing, and 3–7 days for Egyptian customs clearance after arrival. Total lead time from order confirmation to goods at your Egyptian warehouse is typically 14–21 days. Plan pre-summer stock orders in February–April to ensure arrival before the May–August peak demand season.

Can refrigerant gas be shipped to Egypt from Dubai?

Yes — refrigerant gas cylinders are shipped by sea freight as Class 2 dangerous goods under IMDG regulations. Al Faisal prepares all required DG documentation as standard: IMDG Dangerous Goods Declaration, MSDS, UN number labelling and correct packaging. R22, R32, R410A, R134a, R404A and all other gas types can all be consolidated in the same LCL shipment alongside compressors, copper pipe and spare parts. Refrigerant gas cannot be shipped by commercial air freight — bulk gas cylinders must always travel by sea.

What is the minimum order size for sea freight to Egypt?

There is no fixed minimum unit count. LCL (Less than Container Load) sea freight becomes cost-efficient from approximately 0.5 CBM. A typical mixed order — 10 compressors, 20 refrigerant cylinders, 5 copper coils and an assortment of spare parts — is usually 1–2 CBM and ships efficiently. Very small orders (under 0.5 CBM) pay disproportionately high freight per unit. For urgent small orders of general cargo (compressors, spare parts — no gas), air freight Dubai to Cairo is 24–48 hours and makes sense when downtime costs exceed the freight premium.

What documents does Al Faisal provide with every order?

Standard with every order: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin (Dubai Chamber of Commerce), Bill of Lading (sea) or Air Waybill (air). For refrigerant gas orders: additionally MSDS and IMDG Dangerous Goods Declaration. For Westron® branded products on request: Certificate of Analysis. Arabic documentation available on request. All documents are prepared in English as standard and are formatted for Egyptian Customs clearance.

How do Egyptian importers pay Al Faisal?

International wire transfer (TT/SWIFT) to Al Faisal’s UAE bank account is the most common payment method. Exchange office transfers through UAE correspondent relationships are also widely used by Egyptian traders. New customers pay 100% advance before shipment preparation. Established repeat customers with proven order history may be offered deferred payment terms. We do not accept credit card payments for export orders. Contact us via WhatsApp for bank details on the Pro Forma Invoice.

Can I mix compressors, gas, copper pipe and spare parts in one shipment?

Yes — and this is the most cost-efficient approach. Al Faisal consolidates all product types in one LCL sea freight shipment. Refrigerant gas (Class 2 DG) and general cargo (compressors, copper, parts) are correctly separated within the container according to IMO compatibility rules. One shipment, one Bill of Lading, one set of customs documents, one customs clearance agent fee in Egypt. This consolidation significantly reduces the total landed cost per unit compared to separate shipments.

Compressors — Selection & Cross-Reference

What is a T3-rated compressor and why does Egypt need it?

T3 is the highest ambient temperature classification under IEC 60335-2-40 — it certifies the compressor for continuous operation in outdoor ambient temperatures up to 52°C. Cairo rooftop units regularly experience 48–50°C effective ambient in summer due to surface heat re-radiation, and Upper Egypt (Aswan, Luxor, Minya) can exceed 50°C air temperature on peak summer days. A T1-rated compressor (designed for up to 43°C) operated in these conditions experiences accelerated lubricant breakdown and motor winding thermal aging — leading to early failure. All compressors Al Faisal sells for Egypt are T3-rated. See our detailed T3 compressor guide.

What is the difference between Invotech and GMCC compressors?

Both are T3-rated rotary compressors suitable for Egypt’s climate, but they serve different application niches. Invotech is Australian-engineered specifically for high-ambient tropical markets — it is the preferred cross-reference for Japanese brand AC systems (Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Hitachi) where the OEM compressor is designed to the same tropical high-ambient mandate. GMCC is manufactured by Midea Group and is the genuine OEM compressor for Midea AC systems — it is also an excellent cross-reference for Samsung, Haier, Gree, Sharp and other Chinese/Korean brands. For standard Egyptian residential split AC, GMCC is the more cost-effective choice. For premium Japanese brand replacements, Invotech is the better specification match.

What compressor should I order for an LG 1.5-ton split AC?

For LG 1.5-ton residential split AC systems (R410A), the primary options from Al Faisal are: LG QVS325PMA (the genuine LG T3-rated 1.5T rotary — exact OEM equivalent), GMCC PH420X3CS-4KU1 (excellent cross-reference, Midea Group engineering), or Invotech YH104T2-100 (premium tropical cross-reference). Send the outdoor unit model number via WhatsApp and we confirm the best match for your specific LG model. See the full LG spare parts Egypt guide.

What compressor does window AC use — and is it different from split AC?

Yes — critically different. Split AC uses hermetic rotary compressors. Window AC uses hermetic reciprocating (piston-type) compressors. These are completely different technologies and cannot be substituted for one another. Al Faisal stocks Tecumseh AWR series and Kulthorn AZ series — both T3-rated reciprocating compressors for Egypt’s R22 window AC installed base. If you are servicing window AC, specify “window AC reciprocating” when contacting us. See the system types guide for the full comparison.

Does a replacement compressor for a Daikin R32 system need to be specifically R32-rated?

Yes — this is critical. R32 runs at higher discharge temperatures than R410A due to its higher compression ratio. A compressor rated only for R410A uses motor winding insulation and valve materials rated for R410A’s lower operating temperatures — installing it in an R32 system will cause premature failure. All Daikin residential systems from approximately 2016 use R32. When ordering a replacement compressor for any Daikin residential unit, confirm R32 compatibility explicitly. Al Faisal’s export team confirms R32 suitability as part of every Daikin cross-reference consultation. See the Daikin spare parts Egypt guide.

Why is it essential to replace the filter drier whenever replacing a compressor?

When a compressor burns out, it releases acid and metallic particles into the refrigerant circuit. The old filter drier’s desiccant becomes saturated with this contamination. If the filter drier is not replaced, this contamination circulates through the new compressor, destroying its bearings and windings within weeks. For systems with EEV (Electronic Expansion Valve) — Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Toshiba — contamination also jams the EEV’s precision needle valve, causing an expensive secondary failure. The Danfoss filter drier costs a fraction of a compressor — always include it in every compressor order. See the full explanation in our spare parts guide.

What compressor oil should I use — POE or mineral?

POE (polyolester) oil is required for all R410A and R32 systems — without exception. POE oil is miscible with R410A and R32 and circulates through the system to lubricate the compressor. Mineral oil is used only with R22 in older systems. Mineral oil and POE oil are not compatible — mixing them forms sludge that blocks the expansion valve immediately after commissioning. Never use mineral oil in any R410A or R32 system, and never use POE oil in a legacy R22 window AC that was originally designed for mineral oil.

Refrigerant Gas — Types, Safety & Handling

What refrigerant gas do most Egyptian split AC systems use?

Egyptian split AC systems installed from approximately 2015 onwards use R410A — this is the current dominant gas type for new residential and commercial split AC in Egypt. Systems installed before 2015 use R22 — which remains the highest-volume gas by installed base given Egypt’s large legacy fleet. Premium inverter models from 2022+ (Daikin all residential, Samsung WindFree Elite, Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-LN/AP/GL, Panasonic HZ/XZ, Midea Blanc, Gree newer models) use R32. Window AC — virtually all Egypt’s window AC installed base — uses R22. Always confirm from the outdoor unit nameplate before opening any cylinder.

What is the difference between R32 and R410A?

R32 is a pure single-component gas (difluoromethane) with a GWP of 675 — roughly one third of R410A’s GWP of 2,088. R410A is a blend of R32 and R125 at 50/50. Because R32 is a pure component, it can be charged as vapour or liquid without fractionation risk — unlike R410A which must be charged as liquid only. R32 carries an A2L (mildly flammable) safety classification, while R410A is A1 (non-flammable) — meaning R32 requires good ventilation and no ignition sources during charging. R32 also runs at higher discharge temperatures than R410A, which is why replacement compressors for R32 systems must be specifically R32-rated. See the full R32 Egypt guide.

Can R410A be used to replace R22 in an older Egyptian split AC?

No. R22 and R410A are not interchangeable. R410A operates at 40–70% higher pressure than R22 — a system designed for R22 uses components (compressor, copper pipe, expansion valve) that are not rated for R410A pressures. Installing R410A in an R22 system will cause immediate system damage. If an Egyptian R22 split AC compressor has failed, it must be replaced with an R22-rated compressor and charged with R22. R410A is only for systems designed and labelled for R410A.

Is R32 dangerous to handle? What precautions do Egyptian technicians need?

R32 is classified A2L — mildly flammable, with a slow burning velocity and a lower flammability limit of approximately 13.3% by volume in air. It is far less flammable than propane (A3 class) and presents low risk when handled correctly. The practical precautions for Egyptian technicians: work in a well-ventilated area (open doors and windows), no naked flames or smoking during charging, do not discharge R32 in a confined sealed space, use A2L-rated manifold gauges and hoses. R32 must only be used in systems specifically designed and certified for R32. See the full R32 safety guide.

What brands of R410A refrigerant does Al Faisal stock for Egypt?

Al Faisal stocks five R410A brands: Westron® (UAE origin, Al Faisal’s own brand), Maxron® (Made in Korea), Forane® Arkema (France — 11.3KG cylinders), ELIWELL and Fastcool. All five brands are available for Egypt export. Westron® and Maxron® are the highest-volume choices; Forane® is preferred when French-origin documentation is required for specific Egyptian import permits or tender requirements. See the full range at R410A Egypt.

Why should R410A be charged as liquid — and why does this not apply to R32?

R410A is a blend of two gases — R32 (50%) and R125 (50%). When drawn from the cylinder as vapour, R32 evaporates faster than R125, changing the mixture’s composition as the cylinder empties. Charging R410A as vapour would result in an off-specification refrigerant blend entering the system. The cylinder must be inverted to draw liquid, maintaining the 50/50 composition. R32 is a pure single-component gas — only one molecule, so there is nothing to fractionate. It can be charged as vapour or liquid at the technician’s convenience, with no risk of composition change. This simplifies R32 charging compared to R410A.

What refrigerant does a Daikin AC in Egypt use?

Every Daikin residential split AC sold in Egypt since approximately 2016 uses R32 — including the entire Sensira, Comfora, Perfera, Stylish and Ururu Sarara range. Daikin was the first major AC manufacturer to move its entire residential range to R32 globally. Older Daikin models (FTXB, FTXC and earlier FTX series from before 2016) may use R22 or R410A — the outdoor unit nameplate confirms the refrigerant type for any specific unit. Daikin commercial cassette (FHQ), ducted and VRV systems use R410A. See the full Daikin spare parts guide.

AC Spare Parts — Components & Usage

Why do AC capacitors fail so often in Egypt?

Electrolytic capacitors are rated for a maximum operating temperature — typically 85°C internal. Egypt’s summer ambient temperatures of 40–52°C significantly raise the capacitor’s internal operating temperature, accelerating the breakdown of the electrolyte. The Arrhenius principle applies: every 10°C rise in operating temperature approximately halves the capacitor’s service life. In Egypt, capacitors that would last 10 years in a European climate may fail in 3–5 years. Capacitor replacement is the highest-frequency HVAC service call in Egypt — Al Faisal stocks Skycap run capacitors and Sigma SPP6 starting capacitors in all standard µF and voltage ratings. See the AC capacitors Egypt guide.

Will the KT-109 universal remote work with my brand of AC?

The KT-109 Universal Remote is compatible with the majority of split AC brands using standard IR remote control — including LG, Samsung, Carrier, Panasonic, Gree, Midea, Haier, Sharp, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Fujitsu General and many others. It covers the core IR functions: on/off, temperature, mode, fan speed and timer. It does not cover WiFi/app-connected features on premium models (Samsung SmartThings, Daikin Online Controller, LG ThinQ) — those require the brand’s app and original WiFi module. For LG-specific advanced functions, the KT LG1 remote provides better LG compatibility than the standard KT-109.

What is the Westron WS-U03C and which AC systems does it cover?

The Westron WS-U03C is a Universal AC Control System Kit — a complete PCB (printed circuit board) replacement kit for non-inverter split AC systems where the original PCB has failed and OEM replacement is unavailable or prohibitively expensive. It covers a wide range of Egyptian AC brands’ older non-inverter split AC models: LG, Samsung, Carrier, Panasonic, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Haier, Midea, Gree, Sharp and others. It is not suitable for inverter-drive models — modern inverter AC systems require OEM inverter PCBs for correct variable-speed compressor operation. The WS-U03C is an excellent practical solution for Egypt’s large legacy non-inverter installed base.

What copper pipe grade should I use for R410A split AC in Egypt?

STD or REG grade NWM Korea copper is the minimum specification for R410A split AC refrigerant lines in Egypt. R410A operates at 40–70% higher pressure than R22 — ECO-grade copper is not pressure-rated for R410A working conditions and will develop leaks under sustained pressure. For coastal Egyptian installations (Alexandria, Port Said, Suez, Red Sea coast), always use REG grade regardless of refrigerant — the thicker wall provides better resistance to salt-air corrosion. See the full grade selection guide at the copper pipe Egypt page.

Why is the outdoor fan motor the first thing to check before replacing a compressor?

A failed or slow-running outdoor condenser fan is one of the most common root causes of compressor burnout in Egypt. When the fan motor fails, the condenser coil cannot reject heat — head pressure rises to destructive levels within minutes in Egypt’s summer ambient temperatures. The compressor thermal protector trips repeatedly, and winding damage accumulates with each restart cycle. If the fan motor failure is not identified and corrected before fitting a new compressor, the new compressor will fail for the same reason within weeks. Always test fan motor speed and current draw before ordering a compressor replacement.

Brands — Which Parts for Which System

What refrigerant does Samsung WindFree use in Egypt?

Samsung’s WindFree series splits into two: the WindFree Elite (AR BXFCAWK series) uses R32, while the WindFree Comfort (AR TYHQEWK series) uses R410A. The outdoor unit nameplate always confirms the refrigerant type — never assume based on the series name alone. Charging a WindFree Elite (R32) with R410A causes incorrect pressures and compressor damage. The Samsung Triangle series, standard inverter and budget series all use R410A. See the full guide at Samsung spare parts Egypt.

What is the difference between Mitsubishi Electric and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries AC?

They are two separate companies — Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd (MHI) — that both make AC under the Mitsubishi name but operate independently. Mitsubishi Electric makes the MSZ/MUZ residential and Mr Slim commercial series; newer models use R32. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries makes the SRK/SRC residential and FDT cassette series; most use R410A. The outdoor unit model prefix identifies the company: MUZ- = Mitsubishi Electric, SRC- = Heavy Industries. Ordering the wrong parts because of brand confusion is a common Egyptian service mistake. See Mitsubishi spare parts Egypt for the full breakdown.

Is GMCC genuinely the OEM compressor for Midea AC, or just a cross-reference?

GMCC is genuinely the OEM compressor brand for Midea AC — not a cross-reference substitute. Midea Group owns GMCC (Guangdong Meizhi Compressor Co. Ltd) as a subsidiary. When Midea fits compressors to its Mission, Xtreme Save or Blanc AC units at the factory, those are GMCC compressors. When Al Faisal supplies GMCC for a Midea AC replacement, it is supplying the same compressor brand the factory used. This is unique to Midea — for all other brands, GMCC is an excellent T3-rated cross-reference, but only for Midea is it the genuine OEM equivalent. See Midea spare parts Egypt.

What is Toshiba’s ownership situation and does it affect compressor choice?

Toshiba’s air conditioning division was acquired by Midea Group in 2016. The Toshiba brand name continues — same product design, Japanese heritage — but the parent company is now Midea. This means GMCC compressors (Midea Group subsidiary) are now the closest OEM-adjacent cross-reference for newer Toshiba Seiya (RAS-S) R410A residential models. For Toshiba’s R32 models (Suzumi RAS-B and newer Seiya post-2018), Invotech YH series with confirmed R32 compatibility is the primary recommendation. See Fujitsu & Toshiba spare parts Egypt.

What is Westron® and is it a quality brand?

Westron® is Al Faisal’s own brand — manufactured in the UAE under Al Faisal’s direct ownership. Westron® covers refrigerant gas (R22, R410A, R134a, R404A and others) and rotary compressors, all manufactured to T3 specifications for the MENA market. As the brand owner, Al Faisal has full control over Westron® product quality and traceability — batch documentation, Certificate of Origin and Certificate of Analysis are available for every Westron® product. Egyptian importers who require UAE Certificate of Origin documentation for their imports benefit specifically from ordering Westron® branded products.

Why does Haier have a Desert Series and what makes it different?

Haier’s Desert series is engineered specifically for MENA and African markets with high summer ambient temperatures. It carries T3 certification for operation up to 52°C ambient, uses reinforced condenser coil construction for improved heat rejection in dusty environments, and is fitted with compressors rated for high-discharge-temperature operation. In Upper Egypt and rooftop Cairo installations, the Desert series has a meaningful engineering advantage over standard AC designed for temperate climates. Even Desert series units require clean condensers and healthy capacitors — T3 engineering supplements good maintenance, it does not replace it. See Haier spare parts Egypt.

Egyptian Customs & Import Regulations

Do I need an import permit for R22 refrigerant in Egypt?

Yes. R22 (HCFC-22) is an ozone-depleting substance controlled under Egypt’s Montreal Protocol obligations. The Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) requires a valid import permit and annual quota allocation for any R22 import. Without this permit, R22 shipments will be held at the Egyptian port indefinitely. Apply to the EEAA at least 6 weeks before your first R22 order. R410A, R32, R134a, R404A and all other HFC refrigerants do not require EEAA permits. See the detailed guide at R22 Egypt.

What are the HS codes for HVAC spare parts in Egyptian Customs?

Approximate HS codes for Al Faisal’s main product categories: AC rotary compressors 8414.30, reciprocating compressors 8414.20, refrigerant gas (HFCs) 2903.39, copper tubes and pipes 7411.10, AC spare parts 8415.90, fan motors 8501.10 / 8501.40. Your Egyptian customs clearance agent will confirm the exact applicable HS codes and applicable duty rates for your specific shipment. Al Faisal provides the Commercial Invoice with product descriptions to assist correct HS code classification. See the import guide for more details.

What is the total landed cost for importing AC parts from Dubai to Egypt?

Total landed cost includes: product price (Dubai FOB) + sea freight LCL (approximately USD 80–160 per CBM) + destination port charges (USD 80–150 flat) + Egyptian customs duty (5–20% depending on HS code) + Egyptian VAT (14% on CIF value plus duty) + customs clearance agent fee (EGP 2,000–5,000). As a general rule, plan for total landed cost to be approximately 30–45% above the Dubai FOB price. Large consolidated orders have a lower percentage overhead than small orders because the fixed costs (freight, port charges, agent fee) are spread across more product value. See the full worked example at our import buyer’s guide.

How do I verify that a Dubai HVAC supplier is legitimate before sending money?

Key verification steps: (1) Ask for the Dubai trade licence number and verify on the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism website. (2) Confirm a physical shop address and check it on Google Maps Street View. (3) Ask how long they have been in business — verify against trade licence issue date. (4) Ask for references from other Egyptian customers. (5) Check whether they own any product brands — brand owners have higher accountability than pure resellers. (6) Test their technical knowledge with specific questions (T3 rating, HS codes, EEAA permits). Al Faisal’s credentials: established 2005, registered at Shop No S03B Al Wasl Building Deira Dubai, Westron® and Maxron® brand owner.

What happens if my shipment is selected for physical inspection at Egyptian Customs?

Egyptian Customs assigns shipments to green (document review only), yellow (enhanced document review), or red (physical inspection) lanes. If your shipment is assigned red lane, customs officers physically examine the cargo to verify it matches the Commercial Invoice and Packing List. Correctly packed, correctly labelled and accurately described goods clear physical inspection without issues. Discrepancies between the declared goods and the actual cargo — even innocent ones — can cause delays and potential penalty assessments. Al Faisal’s consistent, accurate and professionally prepared documentation significantly reduces the chance of complications at physical inspection.
